Decide today who speaks for you if you can't
An advance directive is a legal document where you put in writing what medical care you want — or don’t want — if you ever can’t communicate. It’s not just for the elderly or the sick: it’s for every adult.
In Florida, the main ones are
- Living Will: states which treatments you do or do not want in the event of a terminal condition.
- Health Care Surrogate: names a trusted person to make medical decisions for you if you can't.
- Organ and tissue donation: records your wishes.
Why it matters
Without these documents, your family could face very difficult decisions without knowing what you would have wanted. Having them is an act of care for the people you love.
How to do it
